October 27th Meeting

This week, Tecumseh Town Council begins at 4pm with a meeting of the Personnel Committee.  The agenda can be found here.

A review of the Human Resources Department structure was recently completed by an external consultant.  Reorganization is proposed wherein Human Resources would report into the Chief Administrative Officer in lieu of the Town Clerk.

At 6pm a Special Meeting of Council will be held to discuss the regional Windsor-Essex Regional Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.  The report can be found here.  It provides a roadmap to completion of a plan by late 2021.

1. Loyalist Township dated October 9, 2020 Re: Funding for Community Groups and Service Club affected by Pandemic.  Loyalist Township requests federal and provincial funding support for non-profit groups.
2. Township of Blandford-Blenheim dated October 13, 2020 Re: Unlicensed and Unmonitored Cannabis Grow Operations.  Blandford-Blenheim requests stricter federal regulation with respect to the locating and enforcement of cannabis grow operations.
3. Township of South-West Oxford dated October 22, 2020 Re: Assessing Aggregate Resource Properties.  South-West Oxford requests that the Province work with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation to ensure that aggregate resource properties are assessed for their industrial value.
4. County of Northumberland dated October 21, 2020 Re: Aggregate Resource Property Valuation.  Northumberland requests that the Province work with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation to ensure that aggregate resource properties are assessed for their industrial value.
5. County of Northumberland dated October 21, 2020 Re: Cannabis Land Use Management and Enforcement Issues.  Northumberland requests that a governing body be created to regulate cannabis production, and that the governing body take a unified approach be taken to land use planning restrictions: and that the governing body enforce the regulations under the Cannabis Act on behalf of the licencing agency and ensures local authorities are in fact provided with notification of any licence issuance, amendment, suspension, reinstatement, or revocation within their region; and that the governing body communicates more readily with local governments; and that the governing body provides local government with more support.
6. County of Northumberland dated October 21, 2020 Re: Unauthorized Car Rally held in Wasaga Beach.  Northumberland supports calls for additional enforcement with respect to car rallies held in the area.
7. County of Northumberland dated October 21, 2020 Re: Review of the Municipal Election Act.  Northumberland supports Wollaston Township regarding requesting a review of the Municipal Election Act to with a view to making amendments that allows for reporting of election fraud and ensuring that legislation can be enforced.
1. Bylaw-2020-65 A By-law to amend drainage assessments estimated in engineer reports based on actual costs incurred for the construction of various drains.
2. By-law 2020-66 Being a by-law to authorize the execution of an Agreement between The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh and St. Clair Beach Retirement Community
3. By-law 2020-67 Being a by-law to authorize the execution of an Agreement between The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh and Olinda Farms Inc.
