1. Town of Grimsby dated May 6, 2020 Re: Support for Commercial Rent Assistance Program. Grimsby endorses an expediting of commercial rent relief programs by the Government of Canada.
3. Town of Fort Erie dated May 20, 2020 Re: Request of support for High Speed lnternet Connectivity in Rural Ontario. Fort Erie requests provincial investment in internet services for rural communities.
a. PRS-2020-14 Arena Fire Suppression and Domestic Water Line Emergency Repairs. Administration is recommending that Arena fire suppression and domestic water line emergency repairs be proceeded with in the amount of $35,000 net of 100% refundable HST, to be authorized and funded out of the Arena Lifecycle Reserve.
a. PBS-2020-17 2020 Three Month Permit Report. Administration provides an update with respect to building activity for the first three months of 2020. Construction value was reported at $5,206,667, which is up by $742,114 or 17 percent over last year. A total of 73 permits were issued, which is an increase of 15 permits or 26 percent over the previous year.
c. PBS-2020-19 CIP Grant, 11870 Tecumseh Road. Administration recommends that the Gateway Tower development at 11870 Tecumseh Road be approved for a grant under the Development Charges Grant Program in the amount of $100,000 in relation to the construction of a six-storey, 99-unit apartment building proposed for the subject property.
A motion related to delegating authority to Administration for refuse collection in case of a flooding emergency is being proposed by Councillor Houston.
