July 9th Meeting

This week, Tecumseh Town Council begins at 5:30pm.  There will be a public meeting to discuss an application for Condominium Approval for a five-storey, 64-unit condominium dwelling on a 1.3 hectare (3.2 acre) property located on the north side of Tecumseh Road (14328-14346 Tecumseh Road), approximately 45 metres east of its intersection with Brighton Road.  The report can be found here.

Beginning at 6pm there will be a public meeting to discuss the level of Development Charges to be levied on new land developments.  The agenda and reports can be found here.

1) Bob Boughner, Chair, Windsor Essex Care for Kids regarding a request for a Noise By-Law Exemption Request for the Windsor-Essex Care for Kids Foundation (W.E. Care for Kids) event on Friday, August 16.
a. Town of LaSalle dated June 19, 2019 Re: Support of a New Regional Hospital for Windsor-Essex County.  LaSalle Council has resolved to support the proposed Regional Hospital at its recommended location.
b. Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing dated June 21, 2019 Re: Funding from National Disaster Mitigation Program.  Minister Steve Clark advises that Tecumseh has been successful in its application for funding under the program in the amount of $180,000 towards the Oldcastle Storm Drainage Master Plan.
c. Ministry of the Solicitor General dated June 25, 2019 Re: Compliancy with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA).  The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (OFMEM) has reviewed the documentation submitted by the Fire Chief and has determined that the Town is compliant with the EMCPA in 2018.
d. Township of Warwick dated June 26, 2019 Re: Enforcement for Safety on Family Farms.  Warwick requests that the Province investigate a stronger
enforcement of existing laws - or new legislation - to ensure the safety of Ontario’s farm families, employees and animals from protesters or activists.
e. Storm Drainage Master Plan dated July 5, 2019 Re: Notice of Study of Completion.  The Town of Tecumseh reports that the Storm Drainage Master Plan draft report is complete, which recommends the following:
• Replace the existing Lesperance Road Pump Station with an upgraded facility;
• Expand the existing West St. Louis Pump Station;
• Decommission the St. Mark’s Pump Station and replace the existing Scully Pump Station with an upgraded facility for the consolidated Scully/St. Mark’s
service area;
• Replace the existing PJ Cecile Pump Station with an upgraded facility; and
• New storm pump station along Southwind Crescent.
• Construct a surface storage facility within the “Tecumseh Soccer Fields” adjacent to École Secondaire L'Essor;
• Construct a surface storage facility within Buster Reaume Park; and
• Construct an underground/surface storage facility within Tecumseh Centre Park.
Administration is recommending adoption and integration of the Strategic Priorities adopted by Town Council into the Town's operations going forward.  They are: 1) SmartGrowth, Make the Town of Tecumseh an even better place to live, work and invest through a shared vision for our residents and new comers; 2) Sustainable Infrastructure, Ensure that Tecumseh’s current and future growth is built upon the principles of sustainability and strategic decision making; 3) Community Health and Wellness, Integrate the principles of health and wellness into all of Tecumseh’s plans and priorities; 4) Continuous Improvement, Steward the Town’s “continuous improvement” approach to municipal service delivery to residents and businesses; 5) Leadership and Good
Governance, Demonstrate the Town’s leadership role in the community by promoting good governance and community engagement, by bringing together
organizations serving the Town and the region to pursue common goals.
