The first delegation is Inspector Glenn Miller, Detachment Commander, Essex County OPP and Staff Sergeant Jamie Smith, Essex County OPP who will be speaking with respect to the Essex County OPP Response to Tecumseh 2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey. You can read some of their data here. The top 3 issues in Ward 1 are Municipal By-law violations, Traffic Complaints and Suspicious Person calls.
1. City of Oshawa dated June 26, 2020 Re: Covid-19 Funding. Oshawa requests of senior levels of government additional funding to support social cultural, service clubs, and children/youth minor sporting.
3. County of Essex dated July 13, 2020 Re: Official Plan Amendment No. 42 - Town of Tecumseh- Skyline Real Estate Holdings. Essex County is reporting that the appeal period to respond to the Skyline development (new apartment complex at Southfield and Tecumseh) has expired and the new zoning is now in force.
4. County of Essex dated July 21, 2020 Re: Official Plan Amendment No. 15 Town of Tecumseh - D19 Bashi - F&S Enterprises, 12300 County Road 42. Essex County is reporting that the appeal period to respond to the Bashi development (new apartment building at County Road 42 and Lesperance Road) has expired and the new zoning is now in force.
6. Town of Essex dated July 23, 2020 Re: Request for Raw Data on Positive COVID-19 Cases in Essex County. Essex requests more detailed information regarding data reporting of positive COVID 19 cases in their municipality and the region, based on classification relating to Travel, Close Contact, Community Contact and Agri-Farm as examples.
a. FS-2020-13 COVID-19 Financial Relief Measures Extended to September 30, 2020. Administration reports that through the previous delegation of authority, financial relief measures that are currently in place are going to be extended up to and including July 31, 2020 to September 7, 2020 for Tecumseh Transit bus fares and September 30, 2020 for all other applicable fees and charges.
a. PBS-2020-25 CIP Grant, 11870 Tecumseh Road. Administration recommends approval of Building and Property Improvement Grant Program for 11870 Tecumseh Road, the amount of which will be determined based upon the incremental increase in the municipal portion of property tax that results from the works being completed in relation to the construction of a six-storey, 99-unit apartment building proposed for the subject property, and that the construction timeline requirement for the proposed development be extended from one year to two years.
a. PWES-2020-24 Rail Safety Improvement Program - Infrastructure, Technology and Research Funding (RSIP-ITR). Administration is seeking approval to apply for federal grant funding to facilitate improving the road grades of the VIA Rail crossing at Lesperance Road.
