March 28th Meeting

The first part of the meeting will discuss an update to the Tecumseh Road Mainstreet Community Improvement Plan.  Representatives from Dialog Consulting and Dillon Consulting will be on hand to show the detailed concepts being proposed.

At 6pm, a public meeting will be held to discuss a proposed five-storey condominium apartment building on the northerly portion of 43 dwelling units and one live-work unit (a dwelling unit that will double as a commercial work space) on the first floor of the building, fronting Tecumseh Road. An associated 65-space on-site parking lot is proposed to occupy the southerly portion of the subject property with access from a driveway proposed along the west side of the property.  You can read the packet here.

Re: Top 100 Festival Award - Tecumseh Corn Festival and Judy Wellwood-Robson Re: Oldcastle Hamlet.

Town Council will receive communications from the Town of Amherstburg Re: Notice of Statutory Public Meeting to Consider an Official Plan Amendment OPA #4 Breweries in Agricultural Areas, and the City of Windsor regarding the 2017 Ontario Renovates Program Release.  Windsor operates this program that offers renovation subsidies for low-income residents for the Town of Tecumseh.  Administration is also recommending that the Town’s Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) representatives [or alternate Members of Council should they be unable to attend] be authorized to attend the Essex Region Conservation Foundation 29th Annual Golf Tournament, on July 20, 2017.

 

The first report will be a revisiting of the Ward Boundary & Council Structure Review - Supplementary Report that was deferred at the previous meeting.

The second report will be a summary of the 2016 Open and Closed Council Meetings.

The third report will be a summary of how much members of Council were paid and claimed in expenses for 2016.  My record is as follows:

Paid $25,983 for Council time, plus reimbursements/expenses of $771 for professional development, $238 for seminars, and $525 for mileage to training.

The fourth report will speak to an application to the Tecumseh Road Main Street Community Improvement Plan, Financial Incentive Program Grant Application, Development Charges Grant Program, for Carmelita Court, Blocks 4 to 6, 12M-616, Valente Development Corporation.  This is the development that was built on the former St. Anne's High School site.  The developer is requesting a Development Charges Grant for a total amount of $78,120 toward the construction of three semi-detached residential dwellings on the subject lands.

The fifth report provides a summary of By-law Enforcement statistics during the 2016 calendar year.  The total number of complaints investigated was 155, with 14 (9%) complaints remaining unresolved.

The final report speaks to the West Nile Virus Program - 2017 Funding Status in which Town Council is being asked to contribute up to $6000 to conduct larviciding (spraying for mosquitos) in an effort to combat West Nile Virus.
